The Century dam was built on the Malibu Creek in 1903, It is  50 feet in Height and traverses the Malibu Gorge. It forms Century Lake and is near the location where the popular TV series MASH was filmed and is featured in quite a few episodes The Rindge Dam was Built was built in 1926 and was used for irrigation by the Rindge family an was farther upstream.   It is quite a bit higher and wider than Century. The Dam Silted almost Immediately and has been out of service since. The Rindge Dam has become the source of controversy on how to remove the dam. Some engineers feel the dam would send a tidal wave of silt into Malibu   when taken down.
